Extinction ends here

On behalf of Re:wild, in response to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, we produced and edited a 2-part video series that kicked off the #ExtinctionEndsHere Campaign, with a call on our world’s governments to permanently end the global commercial trade (#EndTheTrade) and sale in markets of wild terrestrial animals, for consumption, to help prevent the future spread of pandemics. The first video was positioned as a letter from COVID-19 and begged the question “What future do you choose?” It went viral upon its release in April 2020, amassing over 30 million+ views across platforms worldwide and garnering tens of thousands of petition signatures. The second video, released in the wake of the social justice protests in August 2020, was positioned as a response letter from humankind to COVID-19 with a resounding answer to the question posed in the first video, calling others to unite in the sentiment.
